Meditative Vocal Exploration Workshop
Monthly @ Haus of Owl (Doors @ 5:45PM) 6:00PM - 7:30PM
Meet at the entrance of Burdett and Blanshard
Meditative Vocal Exploration Workshop/Circle is a gathering of people who are interested in singing in a group, and exploring vocal sounds. The aim is to find a sense of joy, playfulness, and vocal freedom in the company of others. We would start with short group warm-up, moving into a meditative vocal space together, and then begin to explore. If singers are not comfortable exploring in their own, we will provide prompts to support exploration (e.g. mirror others, choose one or two notes, etc.), we will also have a variety of activities/sections/skills to play with and explore (i.e. listening, blending, finding a place, pausing, breathing, supporting, harmonizing, improvising lyrics, exploring emotion in sound). Singers are welcome participate in or opt out of any activity at any time. This is a welcoming, supportive space whose only goal is to allow for enjoyable, intra- and interpersonal vocal exploration.
