Carpe Noctem is a five-hour Creator’s Challenge by Jordan Dack at Haus of Owl, supported by TELUS STORYHIVE On Location. Songwriters from diverse genres meet with no prep and one constraint: time. A song title is drawn, then they have five hours to write, record, and release an original track—live-streamed in real time. No pre-written hooks, rehearsals, or safety nets—only instinct, collaboration, and risk.
Guided by a Team Lead and Producer, the process follows phases: solo brainstorming, group idea-sharing, mission-setting, writing, tracking, and final mix. Cameras capture friction, breakthroughs, and the pressure of commitment. Carpe Noctem celebrates process over polish, showing what skilled artists create under constraint.
